Gas Hydrates in the Geo-System

Gas Hydrates, as we know today, are not only extremely sensitive to temperature and pressure variability, they contain much more free gases as previously assumed. On a global scale, scientists estimate the amount of carbon dioxide trapped in marine gas hydrates as three times as high as all known gas and oil reserves - making the gas Hydrates a crucial factor in climate change science.
