Research
The atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the lithosphere: the R&D-Programme GEOTECHNOLOGIEN targets the System Earth on the whole. Accordingly multifaceted are the key research themes, allowing to merge the geosciences with physics, chemistry, biology, and the engineering sciences. Furthermore, social sciences get more and more involved. Hence, research projects with partners from medicine, social sciences as well as from economics and law are supported under the umbrella of GEOTECHNOLOGIEN.
Interdisciplinary research joint ventures with partners from academia and industry are supported preferentially. Thus, GEOTECHNOLOGIEN clears the way to concentrate existing research and development potential and to integrate these into cross-disciplinary competence networks.
While financial support is confined to German research partners only, international scientists and research institutions are an essential part of the R&D-Programme. Commonly, GEOTECHNOLOGIEN-projects are closely connected to international programmes.
